Artist's Comments
Two larger Royal desktops, the postwar Quiet Deluxe and the Futura 800, which was one of the last US-produced Royals. Despite appearances, the Futura is from all the way back in the late 1950s. It looks great, and it types pretty damn well too.
The Quiet Deluxe is also a great machine, and, to my surprise, it's actually really quiet. I'd guess that the paper pasted around the platen is to keep it nice and pristine, and to save yourself from having to constantly feed two sheets of paper. |
